Cari:

I have come across your name in several different venues; the library, Colorado Springs Parents of Multiples and now here. I feel as if I am so organized and yet I lost a gift card to the Spa at Broadmoor for a couples massage! Imagine how mad my husband and I both are with ME!

Hi, Jane,
Nice to "meet" you, too!
Did you 'fess up to the Spa and see if they track cards in case of loss? I can imagine how frustrated I'd be! Is it possible you misfiled it? Now's a great time to purge old files (and look for runaway gift cards!)...

Oh yes, I so humbly called the Broadmoor and they have been searching their records for 2 days now. The worst part is we had a babysitter all lined up and were so excited to go and now I've messed it up. Just last week I made a whole file for coupons, gift cards, etc. That's when I realized I wasn't exactly sure where it was! I am a very good "purger" and now I realize maybe too good! I think what you do and offer to help people get more organized is awesome!

Thank you, Jane.
It may not help you now, but I keep such items in a file folder labeled "Clearing" ("Pending" works, too). Tickets, gift certificates, maps, invitations, rebate forms that have not been paid, and such go there - in short, anything that does not need a permanent file but is important for now.
If you'd like more tips, please "follow" me at www.thecluttercutters.blogspot.com.
Praying you'll find it (or the Spa comes through),
Cari
