Apparently the jelly or sex bracelets go way back. Madonna was wearing them in the 80s, although the sexual connotations were not necessarily a part of it. Here's a story on msnbc from the Associated Press in 2003.
Basically, I've decided it's a whole lot of nothin', unless you guys can convince me otherwise.
